When leaders recognize that these factors can be determinants of a successful organization, they focus on influencing the behavior of the employees and take full advantage of a sustained positive impact on the organization. This leads to positive personal outcomes for the employees who are more trusting of the organization which leads to high levels of job commitment, high motivation, and will engage in organizational citizenship behavior. These leaders encourage participation and contributions from employees which help them feel more relevant as part of the organization as they become involved in the decision-making process. In participative theories, employees are very motivated resulting from their input which leads to high productivity. In addition, they are very satisfied in their jobs and with their leader which leads to valued rewards such as working on a high classified project and feeling good about working independently with the high demands of the project. A negative impact would be feeling that they have to agree with the boss decisions and not their own ideas, deviant workplace behavior resulting from unrest, unfairness or corruption within the organization which can also lead to counterproductive activities. Organizational outcomes as a result from this theory can attain such as, high performance, customer satisfaction, effectiveness and efficiency. However, a negative impact can result in a high absenteeism and turnover culture, the perception of high power distance and reduced performance. Organizational outcomes would be represented as high performance, high effectiveness and efficiency and full conformity with the culture of the organization. There are those however, that are motivated by responsibility and the rewards and recognition that comes with it, especially when the rewards are established beforehand. This is known as contingent rewards another dimension which also is represented by the same outcomes mentioned above. Active and passive management by exception round out the other dimensions and active management watches for deviations from rules and standards and immediately takes corrective action. This can be seen as a form of micro managing, and can present a negative impact on employees who may believe that they are seen as not capable thus can engage in counterproductive activities. This  theory sees the importance of followers and uses the foundation that leaders can compensate for lack of ability and motivation with the use of these dimensions. When followers are unable and unwilling, clear and specific directions are needed which also serves as a motivator to obtain higher levels of productivity and job satisfaction for the employee and higher performance and effectiveness levels at the organizational level. However, if they are unable but willing leaders need to compensate for the lack of ability and get them to accept the leader’s desires. This too will have the same outcomes as above. Next when the employees are able and unwilling, the leader has to be supportive and participative in order to be effective. The outcomes at the individual level results in increased productivity because the motivation is high and they are more satisfied with their jobs. The leader does not have to do much when the employees are both able and willing. The four leadership theories mentioned resulted in different outcomes both at the employee level and at the organizational level. Transformational leadership theory focused on motivating and inspiring followers to reach for greater self awareness for the good of themselves and the organization. Transactional leadership guided their followers toward established goals by clarifying role and task requirements. Participation focused on consulting with subordinates and sought their suggestions before decisions were made, and finally situational leadership indicated that there is no one best way to lead and focused on the readiness of the followers.

Primary research data can also be collected by surveying or questioning the consumer. Care must be taken when developing a survey to ensure that the questions are not too leading or too ambiguous. The benefits of conducting either method of primary marketing research to the organization are to give the company a clearer picture of how well the organizations product is meeting consumer expectations. It can also lead to product improvements that the organization may not have considered. The author’s organization can use primary research to gather marketability data. This can be obtained through measuring the amount of orders that are accepted versus the number that are rejected as a form of observational research. They can also measure this through sending out a survey to customers who did not accept the organizations quote. Survey questions can include reasons for the quote being rejected, such as cost, quote turnaround time, and delivery lead time. One of the major advantages f primary data is that it can be â€Å"more specific to the problem being studied† (Kerin, R. A. , Hartley, S. W. , Berkowitz, E. N. , and Rudelius, W. , 2006) and one of the main disadvantages is the cost associated and time associated with collection. So what is the difference between primary and secondary research? Secondary Marketing Research, benefits to the organization, and examples Se condary market research can be gathered from either internal or external data. Internal secondary data includes items like defect reports, historical performance measures, and sales data. External secondary data are items that are collected outside of the organization. This includes data such as industrial sales numbers and averages (Kerin, R. A. , Hartley, S. W. , Berkowitz, E. N. , and Rudelius, W. , 2006). Many organizations use this form of external data to benchmark their position in relationship to others within their industry. They can also use external secondary data to calculate percentages and ratios for comparison purposes. In the earlier example within primary marketing research, the organization was able to use primary marketing data collection to rate how the organization was performing on win to lose ratios. While these independent measures help with internal monitoring, secondary research within the industry allows the organization to set goals based on industrial averages. If the organization collects data and finds out that the main loss of new opportunities is based on delivery lead time, and the organization has a standard lead time of 10-12 weeks, the next step would be to compare the primary research to a secondary set of industry data. If the industrial average (secondary marketing research) is at 4-6 weeks then the organization can understand why they are losing business and make adjustments. The main advantage of secondary marketing research is that it takes less time to compile and no additional costs are associated with collection. The disadvantage is of course, that the data does not conform to specific requirements and the data may be dated. Conclusion In order to market an organization there must be a balance of primary and secondary research. Primary research allows for unique measures to be taken and is specific to the organization but, it can be an expensive and time consuming.

Reading Comprehension for Students With Dyslexia Students with dyslexia often focus so much on sounding out each word they miss the meaning of what they are reading. This deficiency in reading comprehension skills can cause problems not only in school but throughout a persons life. Some of the problems that occur are a lack of interest in reading for pleasure, poor vocabulary development and difficulties in employment, especially in job positions where reading would be required. Teachers often spend a great deal of time helping children with dyslexia learn to decode new words, decoding skills and improving reading fluency. Sometimes reading comprehension is overlooked. But there are many ways teachers can help students with dyslexia improve their reading comprehension skills. Reading comprehension is not just one skill but a combination of many different skills. The following provides information, lesson plans and activities to help teachers work to improve reading comprehension skills in students with dyslexia: Making Predictions A prediction is a guess as to what will happen next in a story. Most people will naturally make predictions while they read, however, students with dyslexia have a hard time with this skill. Brave New World Final 1.) The Savage Reservation is similar to the Utopia world in several ways. They both have drugs that are designed to calm people down. Soma, used in the Utopia and mescal used in the Reservation. They both also have a separation within their own society. The Utopia has social castes and the reservation has separation between the men and women, the men having more power. The two worlds also both have ceremonies. The Utopia has the orgy porgy ceremony in which everyone gathers around and has an orgy, hence the name. The Savage Reservation has traditional dancing ceremonies like the many traditional Indian tribes have today. The two cultures have many similar ideas, just expressed a little differently. These two societies also have many different customs, ways, and styles of living. The Brave New World is clean, sanitary, and organized. Where as in the reservation there’s garbage every where, its dusty, and full of dogs and flies, the complete opposite. In the Utopia people aren’t born anymore, they are grown. Another difference between the two worlds is in the Reservation people are still born the “old fashion way.'; In the Brave New World everyone is young and pretty their whole lives thanks to chemicals and conditioning. It’s the complete opposite in the savage reservation. As seen by the old man, it’s shown that people in the Reservation age normally, loose their teeth, and get wrinkles. The reservation represents more of an old, more class time period whereas the Utopia is perhaps not to distant future gone wrong. In both societies, both of them still are imperfect but in completely different ways. 2.) When Linda was on the reservation she didn’t seem to cope with it very well. She got fat, became an alcoholic, and was just a big mess. She hated how dirty the reservation was and how there was no easily accessible hot water so she could clean things. She hated the beastly clothes she had to wear instead of her old darling clothes. Linda also didn’t like the fact that she has to mend her clothes instead of just throwing them away when they got worn and then simply just buying new clothes. She missed the soma because only mescal is available to her now, gives her a hangover which she disliked. She hated how she got pregnant with John because she was taken away from everything she loved.

Firda Kahlo Art Critical Analysing

Critical Analysis This is an oil on canvas painting by Friday Kohl called Cropped Hair, made in 1940 at a size of coxcomb. It is a self- portrait of her with a scissor in one hand and her hair creeping everywhere on the floor. As you can see in the painting, the fore ground busy because of the long dark hair that is laid all over the floor. In the middle ground of the portrait, it shows Friday Kohl sitting in a chair, wearing an oversized suit, that by the looks of it isn't hers while holding a serious, upset or pain face.As if she was thinking of the pain that someone had caused her, expressing it thought her minting. The way she is position in the painting is out of proportion, from her neck and below it is different from her neck and upwards, making her looks stiff and uncomfortable. The chair also stands out more than the rest of the portrait along with the hands, face and neck; she had used a bright warm yellow to out-stand the other dark and light, warm and cool colors. The ton ing of the middle ground is also very clear, showing all the shadows that are in the suits and her face.The background of the portrait is different from the rest. She had painted it plain, as well s making it look like they are clouds, bring all the attention to the foreground. The top of the background shows some text and music notes. The used of Friday Kohl's Line, Tone, Color, Shape, Pattern and shapes are very unique. She had used manly warm color in her portrait. A cool blue for the suit, a warm red for the floor, a warm yellow for the chair and a mixture of colors for the wall but mostly yellow.The tone's she used made the chair and herself look AD and the rest AD. The pattern she had used is clearly shown in the wall behind her; it is soft and has a repetition of smudge pots making it looks like clouds. This is very different from the rest of the portrait. The texture of the background, her skin, chair and suit are smooth rather than rough. The way she painted the portrait fl oor, from light transitioning into dark to make it seems spacey and how she placed the horizontal line far back.This make also made the room more spacious and wide as if she is in an empty room and by herself. The focal point of the portrait is of Friday Kohl sitting on the chair and the hair surrounding her. Your eyes would be more attacked to the hair that is on the floor cause it gives Off creepy but also sad look to it, your eyes then moves to her in the oversized suit then to the plain background. This it because of her use of red in the portrait, your eyes are usually more attacked to warm colors.Friday Kohl painted this portrait after she had a divorce with her husband, for cheating on her with her own blood sister. She wanted to express the self- independence and self- confidence that she had gain after the divorce. Showing him and other's that she does not need him anymore. I believe that the oversized suit she is wearing in the portrait is Diego. She did this because her h usband liked her to wear dresses and now that he is gone, she does not need to dress to impress. The scissor that she is holding in her hand, tells me that she had cut off all her hair.This was like a sacrifice to her. Her hair was the one thing her husband loved most about her, by cutting all her hair off. She is trying to show that she had cut all ties that she had ever had with her husband. If Diego had left her, then why goes she need the one thing her loved most about her. Your hair is like your Identity. No hair, no identity ‘look it was because of your hair, owe you are without hair, I don't love you anymore' this is what the text in the portrait says. This was a big sacrifice she was willing to make.The portrait looks very empty with Just her in the middle could maybe explain the feeling she was feeling after the divorce, depress, sad, lonely and empty. In my own opinion I dislike this portrait. It looks creepy and gross, with all the hair loosely laid on the ground an d her proportion isn't correct. This is something I would not want to hang up on a wall. It gives off an unpleasant and uncomfortable feeling, like she is looking at you every second, staring at you with hateful eyes.

Thegn - Anglo-Saxon Thegn or Thane

In Anglo-Saxon England, a thegn was a lord who held his land directly from the king in return for military service in time of war. Thegns could earn their titles and lands or inherit them. Initially, the thegn ranked below all other Anglo-Saxon nobility; however, with the proliferation of thegns came a subdivision of the class. There were kings thegns, who held certain privileges and answered only to the king, and inferior thegns that served other thegns or bishops. By a law of Ethelred II, the 12 senior thegns of any given hundred acted as a judicial committee that determined whether or not a suspect should be officially accused of a crime. This was evidently a very early precursor to the modern grand jury. The power of thegns declined after the Norman Conquest ​when lords of the new regime took control of most lands in England. The term ​thane persisted in Scotland until the 1400s in reference to a hereditary tenant of the crown who did not serve in the military.
